Meet Linda Patel

My Story

I’m originally from a small town just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, called New Castle. In 2008, I moved to North Carolina and spent a few wonderful years in Raleigh before settling in Charlotte in 2011 — a place I now proudly call home.

I’ve always known that helping others would be at the heart of whatever I chose to do. In college, I started out undecided, but after taking an education course to fill a requirement, something clicked. I realized how passionate I was about making a difference, especially in creating opportunities for people with disabilities. That moment shaped my path and led me to major in Education with a focus on community programming.

After college, I worked in a variety of service-based roles that helped me build strong communication and people skills before finding my way into higher education in 2008. Over the next 15 years, I had the privilege of working across several departments — from admissions and registration to financial aid and scholarships — helping students navigate some of the most important decisions of their lives.

Eventually, I took that experience and transitioned into working directly with high school students as a counselor and Dual Enrollment Coordinator. It’s incredibly rewarding to help young people discover their potential, explore their options, and take those first exciting steps toward their futures.
