About EWC

The EWC Story

EWC started as a business dedicated to helping families and students understand the admissions process and disseminating accurate and timely information to these students for better college decision-making - with an emphasis on college fit. EWC has expanded these services to offer 1st year, transfer, and graduate school admissions guidance from an insider’s perspective.

We offer the best assistance to our families, not only because of our expertise in the field, but we have a heart for what we do.  We love college admissions work and it shows in everything we do for our students and families!

Meet Elizabeth West

CEO

Hi!  I’m Elizabeth West, CEO of EWC Consulting.  I am originally from upstate New York, but moved to North Carolina after I graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam.

In college, I thought my passion was to be a journalist.  I have always loved talking to people and hearing their stories.  I had the opportunity to see stories come to life when I was hired as an Admissions Counselor at UNC Pembroke right after college.

Even though I graduated, I never really left college.  I found my calling in higher education.

In my 25 years in higher education, working with students and helping them become successful continues to be the greatest joy of my career.

I have spent 10 years of my career counseling students as an admissions officer, Associate Director of Admissions, and Director of Admissions.  Then, I enjoyed 14 years of my career teaching college students and working with them on how to become transfer students.

Let my inside experience in higher education help you to the next level of your education. I am excited to talk with you about your admissions adventure!

Meet Dr. Chris Flowers

Educational Consultant

Hello! I'm Chris Flowers, Educational Consultant and Research Specialist at EWC Consulting. I'm from eastern North Carolina, but relocated to the Charlotte area after completing my B.A. and M.A. in English at East Carolina University. I completed my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Adult and Community College Education at North Carolina State University in 2017.

When my wife and I moved to Charlotte, I began teaching English at Central Piedmont Community College. During my 16 years at Central Piedmont (I still continue to teach there as an Adjunct Instructor), I held several roles, including Senior Discipline Chair and Interim Division Director of the English Department. While teaching, I quickly came to realize how much I enjoy guiding students.

I stepped away from full-time instruction in order to formally enter the world of college admissions at my alma mater as a regional admissions counselor. Working as a counselor for ECU helped further develop my love for student engagement and service, and I learned through hands-on experience the "ins and outs" of how to assist students with smoothly navigating the admissions process.

I am absolutely thrilled to have joined the EWC team, and I look forward to helping you make informed, well-researched decisions as you pursue the college that best aligns with your personality and interests!

Meet Christine Boulanger

Educational Consultant

Hi, I’m Christine Boulanger, an Educational Consultant at EWC Consulting. I’m originally from New York but have called Charlotte, NC home for over 15 years. I graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a B.A. in Psychology and from Long Island University, M.S. in School Counseling.

After getting my master's degree, I was thrilled to start a new career working as an admissions counselor for Berkeley College in NYC. For the next 17 years, I worked with high school students, transfer students, adult students, veterans, and online students all from different backgrounds. As a counselor, I would strive to discover each student’s unique story, educational aspirations, personal interests, and life goals. It was in these conversations where I found my passion for helping students find their path in higher education.

At Berkeley College, I started as an Admissions Associate and worked my way up to the Senior Director of Admissions. As the senior director, I coordinated all admissions recruitment and enrollment decisions that connected me to 1000’s of students each year by attending college fairs, interviewing students, and presenting at workshops and events. In addition to supervising and training admissions teams, I collaborated and executed programming initiatives like the online honors program, credits for prior learning and articulation agreements for transfer students.

I’m very excited to join the EWC College Consulting team and continue my passion in helping students find their path in higher education by sharing what I have learned through my professional experience in college admissions. I look forward to bringing that knowledge to help you navigate your admissions journey.

Meet Jasmyn Lindsay

Financial Aid Advisor

My name is Jasmyn Lindsay and I’ve been working in Higher Education for my whole career! I am from the Charlotte area and found my way to Queens University for college. My undergraduate experience completely changed the trajectory of my life in ways that I will forever be grateful for.

Unsure what exactly I wanted to do upon graduation, I took a job in the admissions office at Queens and have not left higher education since. After several years in admissions, I transitioned to work in financial aid and now serve as the Director of Financial Aid at Queens.

Understanding the innerworkings of college access, especially the financial side of things, can be incredibly daunting. My approach to working with students, families, and stakeholders starts with taking a peek behind the curtain – what’s going on in the great big world of financial aid, and how do you personally navigate an everchanging landscape given your own individual resources and needs?

I look forward to working through these questions with you and helping you make the most of your college investment.
