About EWC
The EWC Story
EWC started as a business dedicated to helping families and students understand the admissions process and disseminating accurate and timely information to these students for better college decision-making - with an emphasis on college fit. EWC has expanded these services to offer 1st year, transfer, and graduate school admissions guidance from an insider’s perspective.
We offer the best assistance to our families, not only because of our expertise in the field, but we have a heart for what we do. We love college admissions work and it shows in everything we do for our students and families!

Meet Elizabeth West
CEO
Hi! I’m Elizabeth West, CEO of EWC College Consulting. I am originally from upstate New York, but moved to North Carolina after I graduated from the State University of New York at Potsdam.

In college, I thought my passion was to be a journalist. I have always loved talking to people and hearing their stories. I had the opportunity to see stories come to life when I was hired as an Admissions Counselor at UNC Pembroke right after college.
Even though I graduated, I never really left college. I found my calling in higher education.

In my 25 years in higher education, working with students and helping them become successful continues to be the greatest joy of my career.
I have spent 10 years of my career counseling students as an admissions officer, Associate Director of Admissions, and Director of Admissions. Then, I enjoyed 15 years of my career teaching college students and working with them on how to become transfer students.

Let my inside experience in higher education help you to the next level of your education. I am excited to talk with you about your admissions adventure!
Meet Taylor Florio
Educational Consultant
People describe me as a self appointed concierge. I am passionate about places, people and connecting them to each other. My passion for people is what drives me to do what I do. I understand the importance of a good narrative and am motivated by merging worlds. Building relationships, listening to stories, and pursuing the right fit for others is what I do best.

I was born and raised in the Sunshine State of Florida. After graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, I spent time living abroad in London before moving to Charlotte, NC, which is where I call home.

I didn’t have a lot of guidance for college when I was in high school, which is why my tenured career in higher education is a huge passion for me. I love working with students and their families as they navigate the college search process.

I’ve served as the Assistant Director of Admissions at Queens University of Charlotte, Enrollment Consultant at a local higher ed consulting firm, and Regional Admissions Recruiter for The University of Alabama. I’m active in SACAC, CACRAO, and the founder of CROWN, a regional network of recruiters in the Charlotte area.

Outside of helping students find their perfect college, I love to spend time outside, producing my podcast, on the hunt for the best cinnamon roll, going to Charlotte FC games, boxing at the gym, and riding my electric scooter around town for local coffee.

The college planning process is an adventure, and I am excited to work through this adventure together with you!

Meet Dr. Chris Flowers
Educational Consultant
Hello! I'm Chris Flowers, Educational Consultant and Research Specialist at EWC Consulting. I'm from eastern North Carolina, but relocated to the Charlotte area after completing my B.A. and M.A. in English at East Carolina University. I completed my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Adult and Community College Education at North Carolina State University in 2017.
When my wife and I moved to Charlotte, I began teaching English at Central Piedmont Community College. During my 16 years at Central Piedmont (I still continue to teach there as an Adjunct Instructor), I held several roles, including Senior Discipline Chair and Interim Division Director of the English Department. While teaching, I quickly came to realize how much I enjoy guiding students.
I stepped away from full-time instruction in order to formally enter the world of college admissions at my alma mater as a regional admissions counselor. Working as a counselor for ECU helped further develop my love for student engagement and service, and I learned through hands-on experience the "ins and outs" of how to assist students with smoothly navigating the admissions process.
I am absolutely thrilled to have joined the EWC team, and I look forward to helping you make informed, well-researched decisions as you pursue the college that best aligns with your personality and interests!
Meet Jasmyn Lindsay
Financial Aid Advisor
My name is Jasmyn Lindsay and I’ve been working in Higher Education for my whole career! I am from the Charlotte area and found my way to Queens University for college. My undergraduate experience completely changed the trajectory of my life in ways that I will forever be grateful for.
Unsure what exactly I wanted to do upon graduation, I took a job in the admissions office at Queens and have not left higher education since. After several years in admissions, I transitioned to work in financial aid and now serve as the Director of Financial Aid at Queens.
Understanding the innerworkings of college access, especially the financial side of things, can be incredibly daunting. My approach to working with students, families, and stakeholders starts with taking a peek behind the curtain – what’s going on in the great big world of financial aid, and how do you personally navigate an everchanging landscape given your own individual resources and needs?
I look forward to working through these questions with you and helping you make the most of your college investment.
